The 4th World Coffee Conference was successfully held in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, between 07-10 March 2016 (local time). This conference is the first of its kind on the African continent, the center of origin and diversity for all the coffee species known to date. As a member of the Chinese delegation, Chairman Liu Angsheng attended the conference at the invitation of the International Coffee Organization (ICO).
On 06 March 2016 (Beijing time), Chairman Liu Angsheng met and talked with Mr. Ivan Romero-Martinze, chairman of the World Coffee Committee (WCC), Mr. Roberio Oliverira Silva, president of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), and Mr. Wongdirad Mandefro, Ethiopia’s minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources respectively. On behalf of Tianfu Mercantile Exchange (TME), Chairman Liu Angsheng invited ICO to arrange a visit to TME, and in return, President Roberio Oliverira Silva accepted the invitation with pleasure.
Also in the course of the conference, Chairman Liu Angsheng and other members of the Chinese delegation had a series of communication and view exchanges on establishment of Asia’s coffee trading center in China with Mr. Dan representing ED&F MAN, a famous global coffee enterprise.
