08 November 2014, Seminar on Docking of Futures with Spot Commodity, Regulations and Development of OTC Derivatives by TME and Futures Daily was successfully held at Jinjiang Hotel, Chengdu. Zhang Shaolu, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial Finance Office, Yang Chunxuan, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhao Dewu, party secretary of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics attended the seminar as leaders from the local government and institutions of higher learning.
The seminar was a professional one ever held in China, professionals representing derivatives floor market, derivatives OTC market and spot commodity market had a face-to-face discuss on regulations and development of the markets. Over 120 people were present at the seminar, such as key personnel or leading staff from China’s top futures exchanges, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), Shanghai Clearing House, China Futures Margin Monitoring Center, China City Gas Association, China Energy Association, spot trading institutions, securities, banks, investment organizations, industrial enterprises, experts in the circle, and professors or scholars from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
The seminar touched upon the issues of the business boundaries for floor trading market and OTC market in terms of bulk commodity, approaches of coordinated development for floor trading market and OTC market, useful methods for futures market docking with spot market, just to promote real economy and to bring about effective government supervision on OTC market at the same time.
Themed speeches were delivered by some representatives from TME, HKEx, Shanghai Futures Exchange, Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, China Gas Association, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Guangxi Sugar Market Network, Qianhai Agricultural Products Exchange, China-America Commodity Data Analytics Inc, Zhengzhou University Information Technology Company, and Donghai Securities as well. Other participants from Shanghai Clearing House, Guangdong Plastics Exchange, Nanning (China ASEAN) Commodity Exchange, Ping An Exchange, Hainan Commodity Exchange, Dongnan Commodity Trading Center, Guotai Junan Futures had free communication and view exchanges on the issues of their shared concern.
